I learned at a very early age that a good education is essential to reach your goals and accomplish tasks. After attending Council High, Calvary Hills, University Place and Ed White, I graduated from Butler High School in 1986 with honors. I was a proud member of the Upward Bound family. I have had the opportunity toparticipate in internships in Washington, D.C., UCLA in Los Angeles, California and attended Morehouse School of Medicine. I received a B.S. Degree in Zoology/Chemistry minor and a Master’s Degree and AA Certification in Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University.
Throughout my over 20 years in the education field, I value the gained respect of intelligent adults and the love of caring children. I consider it priceless that I have had the opportunity to serve as a surrogate mother for hundreds of young people who have passed through my classroom.
The lives and accomplishments of my students prove that "If only I can have a positive impact on the lives of my students, then I have accomplished my goal in life of making the world a better place than I found it."
